I am sure you have seen the ads with the long list of testimonials and the company name. It’s almost always in the upper right hand corner of the ad. This is called an intro and it is usually a few seconds long. The intro is a great way to get your viewer’s attention and set up the rest of the video. You can use the intro to introduce yourself, your product, or even your company.
The outro is the part after the intro and before the commercial. It is used to give some closing remarks about the video and the company that made it. It is also a good time to mention what the company is going to do next. If you want to add some extra information to the outro you can add it in here. For example if you are doing a video on how to make money online then you might say something like this “We will be back soon with more information on how to make money online”.
How to use an Intro and Outro
When you are using an intro and outro it should be in the same spot each time. If you change the location you are going to lose the viewer’s attention. You need to keep the intro and outro short so that the viewer does not get bored. You can also use the intro and outro to build suspense. The longer the intro and outro the more suspense you can build.
Using an Intro and Outro
Here is a sample of how you would use an intro and outro in your own video.
In the first 10 seconds you would introduce yourself and your company. Then you would tell the viewer why you created the video. This is a good time to mention some of the benefits that they will receive by using your product or service.
Next you would show a short clip of the video. You could either use a small clip from the beginning of the video or you could use a section of the video where you are giving the most important information.
You could also use the intro and outros to build suspense. The longer you keep the viewer waiting the more suspense you can build.
