Using a combination of Laser Scanning, CAD modelling and 3D printing, Impossible Creations can bring your components to life within hours, by making the automotive process available to any industry, company or individual.
3D laser scanning is used to produce a highly accurate 3D representation of the part. With our broad range of scanning equipment we can scan anything from large buildings capturing an accuracy of +/-2mm, to smaller components such as statues, impellers or even jewellery with an accuracy of +/-0.06mm.
Using a combination of long range and short range scanners, we can scan larger items such as buildings or vehicles and still achieve high levels of accuracy in areas of interest or intricate detail.
The laser scanning kit is extremely portable and we take on assignments both here in the UK and internationally.
CAD MODELLING SOFTWARE
Offering a design team with over 300 years of experience in automotive body design and mechanical engineering we have the capability to support even the most challenging projects. Our in-house CAD software of Solidworks, Freeform and Spaceclaim allows us to design CAD models with a high level of sophistication. We can complete research and development services for your products utilising 3D technologies or offer supplemental CAD design resources to support your own in-house design teams.
GEOMAGIC FREEFORM HAPTIC DEVICE
The Geomagic Freeform Haptic Device – a multi-purpose design platform that lets us create complex, sculptural, production-ready 3D models, and quickly prepare them for 3D Printing, or mould and die manufacturing.
It allows us to accelerate design times, improve accuracy and virtually guarantee moldability with a wide range of tools for analysing and creating mould cavities and cores, inserts and sliders, and complex parting geometries directly from a 3D model.
Tools include no-fail shelling, draft analysis and correction tools, thickness analysis, mould cavity and core extraction functions.
The robust file import and export formats allow us to easily integrate sculpted designs with traditional CAD models and converts STL data to NURBS.
Freeform gives us the capacity to design organic shaped components such as detailed handles, human features and unique shapes of non-geometric data, followed by 3D Printing the designs in ABS plastic for functional parts or as a mould pattern in ProCast acrylic.

PRODUCE LARGE AND COMPLEX ELASTOMER PARTS
Create accurate elastomer parts quickly and efficiently with ease and reliability. The durable elasticity of FDM TPU 92A material makes it a good choice for a wide variety of applications including flexible hoses, tubes, air ducts and vibration dampeners.
PROJET 3500 HDMAX
Our ProJet 3500 HD Max 3D Printer has a layer resolution of 0.016mm and a typical accuracy of 0.025-0.05 mm. Using VisiJet X (similar properties to ABS) we can produce accurate, high-definition models and prototypes for proof of concept, functional testing and low volume production. Using VisiJet M3 Crystal, we can produce ultra-high detail master patterns for mould making. Some attributes for the new materials include toughness, high temperature resistance, durability, stability, water tightness & biocompatibility. This material also provides true plastic look and feel for a vast array of prototyping and end use applications. VisiJet M3 Crystal is USP Class VI certified for approved medical applications. Its durability and stability is ideal for functional testing and rapid tooling applications.
